Our Story

The formation of a nonprofit organization aimed at reducing infant and maternal deaths in Sierra Leone and Liberia, two countries that were ravaged by a decade of civil war, would likely have a compelling and poignant history.
In the aftermath of the devastating civil wars that plagued Sierra Leone and Liberia, the shattered healthcare systems in both countries were left unable to adequately address the urgent needs of mothers and infants. The conflicts had caused widespread destruction of infrastructure, including hospitals, clinics, and medical supplies, leaving many communities without access to basic healthcare services.
Against this backdrop of immense suffering and need, a group of passionate and dedicated individuals, including healthcare professionals, activists, and community leaders, came together with a shared vision of making a meaningful impact on the lives of women and children in these war-torn nations. Inspired by their shared commitment to promoting health and well-being, they decided to form a nonprofit organization focused on reducing infant and maternal mortality rates.
The founders of the organization understood that the challenges facing mothers and infants in Sierra Leone and Liberia were multifaceted and required a comprehensive approach. They knew that in order to make a lasting difference, they needed to address not only the immediate medical needs of mothers and infants but also the underlying social, economic, and cultural factors that were contributing to high mortality rates.
The nonprofit organization is committed to provide essential healthcare services, including prenatal care, safe childbirth practices, postnatal support, and vaccinations for infants. We also have community outreach programs to educate women and families about maternal and child health, nutrition, hygiene, and family planning. Through partnerships with local healthcare providers, government agencies, international organizations, and donors, the nonprofit organization is able to expand its reach and impact, to reach some of the most vulnerable and underserved communities in the subregion.
We also advocate for policy changes and investments in healthcare infrastructure to improve access to quality maternal and child health services across both countries. Despite the many challenges we face along the way, including limited resources, logistical obstacles, and ongoing instability in the region, the nonprofit organization remained steadfast in its mission to reduce infant and maternal deaths in Sierra Leone and Liberia.                                                                                        Through the unwavering dedication and tireless efforts of our team, we hope to save countless lives and empower communities to build a healthier and more hopeful future for generations to come.
